The Owensville/Rosebud Ministerial Alliance is an ecumenical association of area clergy and churches. The Alliance coordinates two worship services for Thanksgiving and Good Friday. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are a state public assistance agency. The Family Support Division determines eligibility for Food Stamps, Child Care Assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Family, MO Health Net Medical Assistance for pregnant women, children, elderly, blind, and persons with disabilities. The Children’s Division takes reports of abuse and neglect of children and case management of children in foster care.

Heartland Independent Living Center is a hidden gem in the middle of Owensville. Located in the old lumber yard building, Heartland has created a place to go where you can feel comfortable and welcome. Our goal at Heartland is to help people with disabilities remain independent in their own homes. We have several services for clients and consumers, and even a few things just for the local communities. Heartland Independent Living Center has several programs available including our In-Home and Consumer Directed Services Programs where you or a family mem - ber can get help with things such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, grooming, feeding, toileting, medications, etc. We also help with Assistive Technol - ogy to help get through daily tasks, and there is nothing wrong with getting a little extra help. We have programs such as dental assistance, and a care closet package for clients and consumers as well. We even offer Skills Training and Peer classes for socialization and learning new tips and tricks because we believe in continuously improving even our brains. Heartland’s goal is to help in any way we can and if we don’t have the answer for you, we will help you find it!
